lagos

LagosLagos is  surrounded by beautifully restored castle walls. The town centre has retained all of its charm and charcter with a  huge selection of shops and abundance of  restaurants serving delicious cuisine from Portuguese to more exotic Eastern dishes. For those who prefer to cater or themselves there is an indoor market selling fruit, vegetables and freshly caught fish. During the evening the square of the town comes alive with street entertainers of every sort.

Lagos has a beautiful cosmopolitan marina,  ideal to sit and watch the expensive yachts go by at one of the many  delightful bars or restaurants.  Alternativly, take a grotto tour, dolphin watching and fishing trips. Or even charter a sailing boat for the day.

To the east is the long sweep of Meia Praia while to the west, from Praia de Dona Ana to Porto do Mos, is a network of beautiful coves, sheltered by cliffs, pierced by tunnels and grottoes and studded by extravagantly weathered outcrops of purple tinted rock.

olhas

Olhas D'agua BeachOlhos D'Agua (Eyes of the Water) is a small fishing village to the east of Albufeira, which  derives its name from the many fresh water springs that can be seen in and amongst the rocks on the beach at low tide.

There is a good selection of restaurants and bars in the resort but for more lively entertainment Albufeira is only a 5 minute drive away.

Alternatively,Vilamoura with it's marina and numerous golf courses can be reached in a 5-10 minute drive.

Next to the beach of Olhos D'Agua you can find the Falesia beach, which is one of the longest unbroken beaches on the entire Algarve coastline.

fuseta

Fuseta HarbourFuseta, one of the Algarve's least discovered resorts, is a traditional fishing village set on the edge of the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa .

It has a lagoon beach with a fine stretch of white sand and views to the Ilha da Armona (sandbank island) that skirts the coastline. Ferries run regularly from the fishing quay across the lagoon to Praia da Fuseta on the eastern end of the Ilha da Armona. The Ilha has excellent safe beaches and the waters are perfect for a variety of sports including windsurfing, canoeing, sailing and diving.

There are several cafes and restaurants around the town's palm tree lined square serving inexpensive local cuisine.
